Modern FSC Pieces by JH2 OneTreeHome

There’s a beautiful collection of sustainable furniture called JH2 OneTreeHome that launched at ICFF earlier this year. Founded by John Houshmand and Jack Donenfeld, New York-based JH2 OneTreeHome offers beds, benches, coffee tables, side tables, consoles, dining tables, and desks — all made with a blend of glass, steel, and wood, FSC-certified Nanciton and Cedro Macho, from Nicaragua.  In fact, some of this wood comes from trees felled during Hurricane Felix in 2007. Prices vary by item.

Inhabit Offers New Eco-Friendly Wall Flats

Inhabit makes a line of 3D wall flats from bagasse, a fiber that’s left over after juice is removed from sugarcane.  The wall flats are popular and the styles are contemporary.  There’s also a few more designs that were added to the line in June, including Luna, Hive, and Drift flats shown in this article.  Inhabit says the flats are non-toxic and biodegradable.  A box of wall flats [$] costs $86 and includes 10 tiles covering up to 22.5 square feet.

Trendy Handmade Tile Now at Modwalls

Clayhaus Ceramics, maker of eco-friendly ceramic tiles in Portland, recently announced a new partnership with Modwalls, a web-based seller of modern tile and wall coverings.  The companies are now offering Clayhaus for Modwalls, which is a custom collection of modern ceramic tiles available online through Modwalls.

The colorful new collection includes 2″ x 8″ tiles in seven colors and plus-shaped tiles in three colors.  The “Plus” tiles are part of the “Symbols” collection to be announced this week at Dwell on Design 2011.  More shapes are planned for the future.

As discussed in a recent article, Clayhaus tiles are handmade in Portland, Oregon with reclaimed clay and lead-free glazes.  Most glazes also contain 50% recycled bottle glass.  Clayhaus for Modwalls is in-stock and ready to be shipped.

Eames Lounge More Attainable This Week

While running this site, we get access to deals every now and then.  I figure some of you may want to know about these, so we’ll try to share the related ones and links with “[$]” will indicate that purchases may benefit Jetson Green.

For example, All Modern is selling Herman Miller pieces for 15% off with free shipping [$] through June 13.  This includes the iconic Eames Lounge and Ottoman (pictured), which I’d love to purchase in duplicate someday to pass on to my sons.

Here are some of the deal pages:

This is timeless design that should also last a long, long time.  And, lest you think expensive isn’t green, I believe Lloyd Alter, Treehugger’s Design and Architecture Editor, does a good job explaining the value of a pricey piece of furniture.
